12 miles on the beach this a.m. The first 6, a run at sunrise praising God for His grace and mercy and the beauty of His creation, another mile with Sari Beri, then a 2-mile walk to Starbucks :~) mmmmm GOOD STUFF! and finally, a 3-mile brisk walk back to the resort. I forgot the dock to the Garmin, so I will have to wait until I get back home to sync it and retrieve the data from these runs.

Yesterday the flight down was uneventful, but the rent-a-car thing was all but! We rented with Enterprise, which is usually upscale, but not here in DAB. They took almost an hour processing our reservation and then they didn’t have the car we had reserved on the Internet. We ended up in a TRUCK — be it a nice, new truck with only 700+ miles on it — it was still a truck, 4-door… but still we ended up putting one of the pieces of luggage in the back 😦 not good.

The hotel let us check-in early, no problem, and then we hit the beach with lunch from Ed’s — a hole-in-the-wall, really good place to eat here at the resort.

We took a 6-mile walk to the pier [round trip] after lunch and pretty much sat in the sun all day. I took a dip in the ocean [couldn’t get anyone else to join me], Sari Beri and I took a dip in the in-door pool and soaked in the hot tub a while — the nice, new, HUGE hot tub!

Dinner last night was at the pier at Bubba Gumps. We did some grocery shopping at Publix after dinner and picked up some essentials, you know… Oreos and milk, chocolate, gallons and gallons of water [4], etc., etc., etc. Had to get a disposable cooler and some ice. Evidently, there was this HUGE water main break here a day or few days ago and and you can’t use ice out of the ice machines or drink water out of water fountains or the tap or anything. It must be pretty wide-spread, it was like that at the airport too and that is about 10 minutes from the beach. The fridge in our room is only a mini fridge this time — thus the cooler.

Now, it’s time to hit the beach again. Today, I think I’ll use sun screen!

Oh, the pic — Sari Beri took it yesterday afternoon — one of the best ever of us! I LOVE IT!!!
