Christmas Cookies :~)

Today I made Christmas snowflake cookies from a recipe in Paula Deen’s Christmas magazine. The dough is a rich BUTTER [of course– it’s Paula Deen!] cookie with both vanilla and almond flavorings. The icing is made of powdered sugar, meringue powder and water. The decorations are YES those little silver balls you remember from childhood that you can’t find in stores any more thanks to the FDA. BUT, you can find them on Ebay I’ve discovered. I also discovered the eatable sugar pearls on Ebay. I made these for our staff Christmas party tomorrow night. Everyone that sits at our table will get to take home one of the big snowflake cookies and some fortunate person will will the centerpiece which will be a huge apothecary jar filled with the remaining cookies.
