Presidents expects ratification of Lisbon Treaty to go smoothly

06.05.2008

Polish President Lech Kaczynski announced he will sign the Lisbon Treaty as part of the political deal which he made with the Prime Minister.

Before the Parliament passed the bill on the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, the President agreed to sign it on the condition that the parliament ratifies another bill regulating the cooperation of the state’s most important institutions on EU matters.

Now the President has said that he expects the whole ratifying process to go smoothly. Earlier, he had announced that he will sign the Treaty at the latest in July.
