Hello 2008 Peachtree Participants!!

With less than two weeks until race day, here are some helpful reminders for the 39th running of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race.

  • Start of Wheelchair Division is 6:50 am.
  • Start of Footrace is 7:30 am.

Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo

Be sure to stop by this year’s Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead, located at 3315 Peachtree Road.  The Expo is free and open to the public during the following hours.

  • Wednesday, July 2 from 11 am – 8 pm
  • Thursday, July 3 from 11 am – 8 pm

At the Expo, there will be many vendors selling running and fitness apparel, providing free food sampling as well as health and fitness information.  Be sure to stop by the Atlanta Track Club booth, shop our great ATC merchandise and purchase your MARTA Breeze Card for race day transportation.

Not Yet Received Your Race Number?

First of all, don’t panic.  It happens every year where a few hundred packets don’t make it to their rightful owners for various reasons.  The very helpful Atlanta Track Club staff and volunteers will work with you to remedy the situation.  So here’s what to do.  Follow these instructions exactly and it will help us get you your packet much more quickly.

  1. Please send an email to office@atlantatrackclub.org. Or, if you’d prefer, call 404.231.9064 x18 but no need to do both.
  2. You will then be given further instructions.  Once you have provided the required information, sit back, relax and start mentally preparing for your race.
  3. We kindly request that you not call or email us more then once because it slows down the process of getting you your packet.

Looking for Volunteers

We still have many volunteer opportunities available if you have family or friends not planning to run.  Visit the Peachtree web site at www.atlantatrackclub.org and click on the volunteer link to fill out the form. All volunteers receive a free t-shirt, a commemorative pin and a special gift from Peachtree sponsor The Home Depot.

Please Help Us Recyle

Join us as the Peachtree looks to increase its recycling efforts at this year’s race.  Please be sure to dispose of your plastic bottles in the specially designated containers throughout the finish area.  And remember, no food or liquids in these special containers.  Just plastic bottles and cans, please.

Transportation To and From the Race – Take MARTA

With extremely limited parking near the start, we strongly urge you to take MARTA and exit at the Lenox Stop (NE 7).  Breeze tickets are $2.25 one way and $4 for roundtrip fare.  Tickets can be purchased at the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo.

9 days to Peachtree…
