Our trip to Ellijay was fast and furious! And, we took a whirlwind tour of North Georgia last night including Hiawassee, Blairsville, Young Harris, Ellijay, Jasper and everything in between. WHEW!

Dinner at Brasstown Valley Georgia’s Mountain Resort for my mom’s birthday was GREAT!

Friday night there is a seafood buffet– shrimp, both fried and boiled, crab legs, scallops, talapia, salmon… and for those who don’t do seafood– prime rib. However, the best part was the dessert buffet! UNBELIEVABLE! Must have been a dozen or more cakes, pies, cobblers, puddings, mousses, and cheesecakes. Should have taken a pic of that! The coffee was EXCELLENT!

Don’t they look happy 🙂

I’m glad we went, even though the stay was only over night.

The pets my parents are pet sitting for are a HANDFUL! At least two of them are and that’s Misha and Tasha. They are part Siberian Husky and part something else, not fully grown yet but quite a bundle of energy! My dad walks them each [separately] at least twice a day on the hills of the mountain road. Quite a chore!

Today we went to an open house at Barna Log Homes. FREE LUNCH! Bar-B-Q actually, and all the fixings– it was pretty good. And the log homes [we toured two] were like nothing I’ve ever seen. Their style is a combination of a log home and craftsman style home– very unique, warm and inviting. A lot of different textures and treatments– I like that. Check it out Barna Log Homes. My parents are thinking about moving to the mountains in the next 5 years or so. I think they might want us to go as well but I’m not sure how we’d work that out.

We headed back to Atlanta in the afternoon, picked up Sari Beri and tonight we’re all home doing laundry and packing for our trips this week. Sari Beri is off to volleyball camp in the early a.m. and my bff and I are off to DAYTONA!!! We’ll be on the second plane out tomorrow morning.
