Couple ties the knot at Starbucks

Monday, September 08, 2008

Sarah Wilson and Jason Cargil knew it wasn’t just the caffeine that set their hearts racing when they met at Starbucks.

They also know the feelings that brewed for months were ready to pour out Sunday, when the Longview couple exchanged vows at their favorite coffee house.

“We just happened to meet up here,” Cargil said, shortly before a brief service in the courtyard of the Loop 281 Starbucks where the two met and belong to a group of regulars. “We ended up talking, and one thing led to another. About a week later, we went out.”

Wilson, 20, said the two got together after she tried unsuccessfully to line him up with her friend, maid of honor Brittany Gable. Gable actually married about a week ago, in a church.

Wilson will need all the caffeine she can find, becoming stepmother to Cargil’s four children, ages 5 to 13, in the time it takes to down a cup of joe.

Cargil, 38, works for Weatherford International Oil Field Services in Kilgore. His bride will be a homemaker, the couple said.

So, who’ll make the coffee?

“I usually make the coffee,” the groom said, and he knows how she likes it. “She’s more of ‘a little coffee in your sugar.’ ”
