Speeding car crashes into Starbucks

A driver has been charged with reckless driving after allegedly crashing his car into another vehicle before veering into a Starbucks in Vaughan [Toronto] Thursday evening.

Just before 10 p.m., a dark-coloured Audi was eastbound on Centre St., said Staff Sgt. Rob Bentham.

At the same time, a westbound car was turning left onto Promenade Circle when the Audi slammed into the car and headed into a nearby Starbucks, he said.

“But in this case, it wasn’t the left-turners’ fault, Bentham alleged.

“He (the Audi) was going at an excessive speed. The person making a turn was driving according to the law. The other car was going way too fast,” he said.

Bentham said there’s no way to know how fast the Audi was going, but it was definitely more than 50 kilometres above the speed limit.

Police have not released the suspect’s name.

There were no injuries.

Sounds like Starbucks could be a dangerous place to work!
