The last setup at Starbucks was all about tea… tea lattes, tea cups from Japan that are really from China, Tazo tea, tea pots, etc., etc., etc. This is a picture of the most ridiculously flimsy cardboard display we were sent to display the stoneware tea vessels on. Yes, that’s all just cardboard [from the tabletop up]!

teaOver the past month or so the cardboard display has become weaker and weaker with the weight of these mugs– which are pretty heavy. So this week we received a package via UPS or FEDEX [I don’t recall which] that contained some clear plastic supports and some very complicated directions on how to install them. They were installed and two days later… the display is tossed… still looking rather flimsy. What a waste!

phoYou know, at some point some designer thought this was a good idea, I’m assuming.

Today, and all this month, it’s all about selling pounds of coffee, whole bean coffees like Breakfast Blend, Cafe Estima, House Blend, Guatemala, Sulawesi, French and Italian Roast, Sumatra, Ethiopia Sidamo, Espresso Roast, Casi Cielo and Bella Vista.

We can pretty much do whatever it takes to sell it. Today’s focus was if you purchase a pound of coffee to be donated to the troops we’ll give you your drink for free– any drink! I only worked a few hours this a.m. but I think we sold close to 40 pounds by the time I left.
